Vince Armfield – Senior Pastor

Vince Armfield has been with First Baptist since 1993. He served for six years as the Youth Pastor and five years as the church’s Assistant Pastor to Bill Fortner. In 2005, he became the Senior Pastor. He is a graduate of Cascade Bible College, Bellevue, WA., with a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree and the Northwest Baptist Seminary, Tacoma, WA., with a Master of Ministry degree. Prior to First Baptist Church, he served for 9 years in the United States Air Force’s Security Forces where he earned an Associates Degree in Industrial Security from the Community College of the Air Force. While with First Baptist he has traveled to Israel and led short-term mission works in Seattle, Everett, Utah, New Mexico, England, India and the Dominican Republic. In addition to his role as Pastor at First Baptist, he is also a City of Kirkland Fire Department Chaplain. He is originally from Westbury, Long Island, N.Y. and is married to Janis and has a daughter (Mykaela) and two sons (Chase and Ethan). Firmitate Dei vivimus honoritate!

Eric Malone – Associate Pastor of Family Ministries and Christian Education

Eric attended Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY from 2004-05 and continued on to Moody Bible Institute where he graduated with his BA in Biblical Studies. He is currently enrolled and taking classes at Corban University School of Ministry. Eric interned for two summers at First Baptist Church ministering in various areas such as music, teaching, youth ministry, children’s ministries and visitation. Since the Winter of 2008, Eric has worked at the church part-time as the Pastoral Intern of Christian Education. As of September 1st, Eric is now a full-time pastoral staff member. His desire is to see the body of Christ strengthened as parents train their children in the Lord at the home while being strengthened through the church. He has been married to his lovely wife, Cheryl Malone, for over 3 years and they are both excited to see the Lord working in their lives as well as the church family’s life!

Lenore Leckvold – Administrative Assistant

Lenore has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1994. She grew up in Tucson, Arizona and moved to the Puget Sound area in 1979. She worked for the Mukilteo School District for twelve years and became the Administrative Assistant at FBC in the fall of 2005.  Lenore is the FBC Drama Team coordinator and is involved in other ministries of the church.  In addition to her role at the church she is  also involved in Fishnet Theatre, a local  Christian Community theatre which tours around the Puget Sound area.  She is serving a one year position as an associate board member and is the Producer of the Kirkland Unit. She has two grown children, Christy and Stephen.  She recently gained a new daughter when Stephen married Amanda Steele in June 2010.

Christy Leckvold – Music Director

Christy Leckvold has been a member of First Baptist Church since 1994. She started piano lessons at the age of six and started singing and playing for choirs beginning in Elementary school all the way through High School. In 1994, she went with the youth group on a mission trip to New Mexico to work with the Navajo Indians, which included building bricks for houses out of mud! She competed in Word of Life Teens Involved competitions from 1994-1997, and won scholarship money to the Word of Life Bible Institute in Schroon Lake, NY  which she attended from 1997-1998. While attending she was involved in the choir and a small ensemble group and was able to travel around many of the East Coast states singing and playing piano in different churches and other various locations. Besides music, the other passion in her life is working with animals and currently has one cat at home named Sydney. She volunteers on a weekly basis at an animal shelter in Woodinville, tending to and playing with the cats and kittens that are waiting for their forever homes.

Frank Slaughter – Financial Secretary

Frank has been Financial Secretary at First Baptist since 2004. He is originally from Alabama but moved as a young boy with his parents in 1946 to Southern California. He has lived in the Northwest since 1973; two years in Eugene, Oregon and in Bothell since 1975. He graduated from California State University in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He worked for Aerojet in Sacramento as a mathematician while going to college. He started as an accountant with Campbell Soup Company in 1969. He subsequently was transferred to Eugene and then Seattle and became VP Finance and Controller for the West Coast Restaurant Division of Campbell Soup. Frank also worked for Bastyr University in Kenmore for five years as an accountant before retiring for the second time. Frank wants to use his talents in finance to glorify the Lord. Frank is married to Valerie and they have two grown children; Lorrie in Woodinville and Bob in Texas. They have four grandchildren; Krystal, J.B., Katrina and Alexandra.
