What Do We Do?
“The Hub” – Weekly Youth Group Meeting: 611 1st Street “The Annex House”
Every Wednesday night we meet at the annex house (611 First Street, south west corner of 1st and 7th) from 6:30pm-8pm for Bible study, games, fellowship, and music. While we see these things as being important in the development of our group, we believe that the study of God’s Word should find preeminence in our worship of God. Every week we spend a large portion of time looking into His Word and discussing it in our small groups afterwards. The emphasis of our Bible study on Wednesday nights is spiritual development, growth and maturity.
Christian Education – Youth Sunday Morning Bible Study
Each Sunday morning at 9:30am, our teens meet at the annex house (SW corner of 1st and 7th) for Sunday school. Junior and Senior High meet together mixed with both boys and girls. Each quarter the class will study a new book of the Bible or various topic. Topics in Sunday School have included Proverbs, James and Philemon and more.
Accountability – Small Groups
Our teens are divided into several small groups. These groups meet each Wednesday night after the lesson to discuss several questions regarding the lesson and also matters of life, prayer requests, accountability and more. Youth leaders oversee the small groups and often meet with the teens in their group throughout the week to invest in their lives and minister to them in many ways.
Discipleship
As our youth ministry is in a transitional period, we are developing new models and programs to assist in the discipleship of our teens. Discipleship groups are available and will be forming over the coming months. Some of the discipleship programs and opportunities include one-on-one personal discipleship and biblical training, new believer discipleship, intensive leadership training and development, as well as life skill mentorship relationships. More to come soon!
Service Opportunities
Every quarter we offer multiple avenues for teens to serve God by ministering to the needs of others. This includes church workdays, nursing home visits, the Teen Feeds at the Kirkland Teen Center, visiting shut-ins, park clean-ups, participating in worship services and more!

June: We had a change in venue here – we were going to go to Skyhigh in Bellevue; however, our teens were presented with a fairly unique ministry opportunity – Saturday, 11 Jun 11 – from 8:30 t0 11:30 they facilitated the end of season baseball game and bbq for Miracle League. Miracle League is a sports program for mentally and physically handicapped children – giving them the opportunity to hit an ball and make their way around the bases. What a great opportunity to serve God by serving others!
Summer Kick-off-Teens, are you ready for the summer to arrive? We are going to celebrate a summer kick-off “retreat” June 22nd- June 24th in a new way this year.
